Bohemian Crystal Etching/Carving Demonstration

A rare and unique opportunity by information of the Czech Embassy to view master glass carver engraver Zdeněk Tomeček of Novy Bor, Czech Republic

From the Egermann School of Crystal Art each piece the artist etches, engraves or cuts is mouth blown, hand crafted and painted by the most skilled crystal makers following traditions dating back to the eleventh century, reflecting classical glass-making techniques and the latest sophisticated manufacturing process. Mr. Tomeček has demonstrated his glass engraving at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, at the Czech Embassy in Washington, D.C. Residence of Ambassador and Mrs. Petr Kolář and at the Pentagon.

Associate Tomas Pavlicek will provide commentary on virtual museum pieces and numerous samples of Czech Bohemia’s finest crystal for engraving and sale. The artist will also engrave monograms on a privately owned piece.

Public is invited. Free admission. Refreshments.
