This Saturday will kick off our highly anticipated new exhibition Texas Czechs: Rooted in Tradition. All are welcome at the opening reception on January 24, 2015 from 6-8pm. Our sponsors Kolache Factory and Saint Arnold Brewing Company have donated kolaches and beer for the evening. Join us and enjoy live accordion music while viewing the exhibit for the first time in Houston! We are located at 4920 San Jacinto Street, Houston, TX 77004.
This program was made possible in part with a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The new year brings lots of other events as well! Mark your calendar for these (many are free!):
February 21: 4-7pm Conversation with Theresa Parker, author of Jimmy Brosch Remembers Twenty Legendary Texas Czech Polka Bands, followed by a performance by the Lanier Middle School Polka Band. This is the first in a series of free events held in conjunction with the exhibit Texas Czechs: Rooted in Tradition.
April 25 Museum District Day for Zone 2 Museums. Stop by the CCMH and other Zone 2 Museums for special activities. It’s also the last chance to see our exhibit Texas Czechs: Rooted in Tradition.
The last Friday of every month is Free Movie Night at CCMH! The nights start at 7:30pm and include free popcorn, cash bar, socializing and a different movie every time.
See you soon!
