Our mission is to instill pride in one’s roots whatever they may be. It is our intent to teach people to be proud of their own culture while teaching them not just about the Czech lands but also Slavic culture. The Czech Center Museum Houston is an elegant, small museum focusing on the education of the Eastern European history, arts and identity. Become a docent at our museum and once a week enjoy the feeling of a small baroque palace in Texas, Houston!
The Czech Center Museum Houston embodies the past heritage and education for today and the future between one million plus Czech Texans and the Czech lands in the areas of history, music, traditions, and genealogy research. The Czech Center Museum Houston is a 501 [c] non-profit educational and cultural arts organization incorporated in the state of Texas on March 8, 1996.
Throughout the year, we host many wonderful events and we welcome our docents & volunteers to participate. We hold facinating & elegant events at our museum such as: Piano concerts with Rice University Professor Brian Connelly, opera presentations with the Houston Grand Opera, exhibit openings, book reviews, galas, a yearly October fest, a Saint Nicolas Eve and free movie nights. Besides of that we host unique events for important individuals such as the Czech Ambassador Kmonicek.
